This post is going to be one of the hardest posts I’ve ever made, so bear with me through it. As a parent you never expect to hear news like, your son has a tumor, or, he’s going to need to be seen by a Specialist at Children’s, or worse, now he’s going to need to be seen by a team of 6 or 7 separate Specialists.
Last month, Miles was diagnosed with a type of brain tumor called an Optic Nerve Glioma. His overall prognosis is good, which we are SO VERY thankful for, but I have no idea how bumpy of a road he’s about to have to go down before we get there.
Over the next few weeks we will have several more appointments with his team of specialists. After 6 to 8 weeks we will do another series of scans to help decide what next steps to take.
Miles is a strong little boy and one hell of a fighter. As the shock wears off, I’m accepting that while he is so strong, he’s going to need a team of fighters with him through this. I’ve never really been big on asking for prayers but we will take every prayer we can get through this. I know without any doubt everything is going to be okay. We appreciate all of the prayers and support as we get him through this.
